J. RIEGER & CO. ANNOUNCES 2026 RELEASE OF COVETED MONOGRAM WHISKEY – KANSAS CITY WHISKEY SOLERA RESERVE

Timed with International Sherry Week, the distillery’s rarest, highly sought-after release will be available online for nationwide home delivery

KANSAS CITY, MO — J. Rieger & Co. has announced the upcoming release of its Monogram Whiskey - Kansas City Whiskey Solera Reserve, the distillery’s most sought-after annual specialty whiskey. Aged in rare, 50- to 100-year-old Sherry botas (500-liter casks), Monogram represents a masterclass in cask finishing and historic blending practices. Timed to coincide with International Sherry Week (November 2-8, 2026), this limited-edition release celebrates the historic intersection of Spanish sherry craftsmanship and American whiskey tradition.

The origin of Monogram stems directly from J. Rieger & Co.’s flagship product, Rieger Kansas City Whiskey. Kansas City Whiskey revitalized the pre-Prohibition practice of adding a small amount of Oloroso Sherry to a blend of American whiskey. That foundational use of Sherry established a direct relationship with the legendary Williams & Humbert bodega in Jerez, Spain, ultimately allowing J. Rieger & Co. to acquire rare Solera Especial botas directly from their cellars.

The distillery’s dedicated Solera system consists of 10 massive, historic Oloroso sherry bota casks ranging in age from 50 to 100 years old, a gift from Williams & Humbert. Rather than emptying a barrel completely, small portions of whiskey are drawn from each bota and blended together before the casks are topped off with a new batch. This continuous, fractional blending process creates a "never-ending" barrel approach:

● Dynamic Age Profile: The 2026 release contains components that have been continuously finishing in the Solera for 5 to 11 years.

● Masterful Blending: Every year, Master Distiller Nathan Perry, Co-Founder Ryan Maybee, and a panel of sensory experts sample each individual bota to craft a unique blend. The specific blend percentages and cask details are featured on the packaging.

● Signature Terroir: The long-term interaction between the straight whiskeys and the century-old oak imbues the spirit with unmatched layers of dark dried fruit, sweet confectionery notes, subtle tobacco, and rich oak structure.

“Monogram is a showcase of patience, partnership, and heritage,” said Ryan Maybee, Co-Founder of J. Rieger & Co. “What started with a small addition of Sherry in our Kansas City Whiskey grew into a relationship with one of Spain’s greatest bodegas, giving us access to casks that simply cannot be replicated. Every annual release offers a new snapshot of those botas.”

J. Rieger & Co. is offering consumers the opportunity to purchase this limited release directly online with direct-to-consumer shipping where permitted by law by visiting J. Rieger & Co. Online Shop. Suggested retail price is $130.00.
