Rebel Yell 100 Proof

Lux Row Distillers

50% ABV/100 Proof

Age: NAS

Eye: Copper. Medium rim holds slow, thick legs.

Nose: Vanilla, some oakiness. A plumy note in the background lends some sweetness. A bit of proof makes itself known but stays back.

Palate: Werther’s Originals and a tip-of-the-tongue heat that moves to the throat. Very flavorful, caramel and vanilla joined by semisweet chocolate. Baked, custardy caramel. Not as fruity as the nose. Mouthfeel is coating and slightly drying with a medium body.

Finish: A bit hot, but coating while the chocolate builds.

Overall: A fruity wheater. The heat is well balanced through the palate but gets a little too strong on the fins. The more you sip, the more baked/cooked caramel comes out. A pleasant if simple dram.
